One Friday night per month we open our doors for a special evening of art galleries, history, self-guided tours, light refreshments, and Art Lab stations for the creatives among us.​

ART EXHIBITIONS:

​

Enjoy four floors filled with fine art spanning many disciplines, styles, and periods.

 

1st Floor (Ground):  

 

Our seasonal art exhibitions showcasing fine art by local and regional artists are located on the bottom level:  The Post Gallery & Parlor, Van Bokkelen Gallery, and Meinecke Gallery.

​

The Dark Room, Print Room, Guest Room, and Kitchens feature seasonal works and pieces from our permanent art collection.

​

2nd Floor (Main Entrance):

​

The Artisan Gallery is a dedicated space filled with the beautiful handmade and written works of makers and literary artists from the region.  

​

The Daughters of Charity Gallery features historic photos and information about the property spanning Piety Hill, St. Marie Louise Hospital, Storey County Hospital, and St. Mary's Art Center.  This exceptional historic property has an incredible history to share.

​

Our Guest Rooms feature unique pieces from our permanent collection.

​

3rd Floor:

​

The Nevada Gallery showcases work from our permanent art call collection and pieces on long-term loan.  These works focus on artists and patrons with ties to St. Mary's Art Center or which celebrate the beauty of our area.

​

Our Guest Rooms and Art Studio feature unique pieces from our permanent collection.

​

4th Floor:

​

The Annabelle Shelley Gallery exhibits the Virginia City Characters collection by Danette Steele Jones.  This lively watercolor body of work celebrates a colorful collection of Virginia City's interesting locals.

​

The Mimi Patrick Library & Lounge features Mimi's work including pottery, folk art, and printmaking.

​

The Louise Curran Theatre shares photos of the original Virginia City Theatre (now Grandma's Fudge) and the beautifully restored theatre seats from 1938.

​

Our Guest Rooms feature unique pieces from our permanent collection.

Art Lab stations will be set up in either the Art Studio and/or the Print Room, depending on subject.  This maker's space is self-guided and for individuals 14 years and older

(some exceptions may apply with adult supervision)

​

Materials are included for registered Canvas & Cocktails and Arts & Crafts Revival participants of the current month.

​

Non-Class Participants:  Materials Fees differ based upon subject.
