EASTER EGG HUNT ON THE LAWN
+ ART FOR KIDS

April 5, 2026
1pm*  (Egg Hunt Starts PROMPTLY at 1pm)
1:15pm Art for Kids on the 3rd Floor

(immediately following the hunt)
Kids and their families are invited to continue the tradition of hunting Easter Eggs on our front grounds!

The local Scout Troop 847 hides over 1200 eggs (including special prize eggs) and the Storey County Fire Department kicks off the hunt with a festive honking from a fire truck!  The Easter Bunny and Sheriff's deputies have been known to visit the kids too!

ART IN THE STUDIO
The 3rd floor art studio will be set up with fun stations for kids and families to create art.  Scout Troop 847 will be on hand to help the kids create their masterpieces.

ART GALLERIES & MORE
The Easter Egg Hunt opens our doors for families to wander the halls and see the art galleries, enjoy the library, theatre, and more!  This year we also celebrate our 62nd year as an art center and 150th year for the property!

This is a free event but donations are always gratefully accepted.

Who is Don Bailey and why is the Imaginations Children's Art Program named in his honor?  Don was a dear friend and our longest serving board member with 48 years of service.  He was passionate about the art center and the Scouts, working with both for many decades.  Children were the light in his eyes and he loved this event and all of our other Imaginations programming.  He was still with us when we added his name.  A memorial plaque in his name is on the flag post which he helped install decades ago.
