This class is for adults 21+ years of age and older.  All skill levels are welcome. 

 

This series includes cocktails, mocktails, snacks, and a tremendous amount of fun!  Meet your neighbors, make new friends, or simply enjoy an evening relaxing and creating.

Feeling the pressure to complete work within the class time?  Have no fear, Art Lab is here!  For 3 days following Canvas & Cocktails, stations will be set up for students to finish their projects during our open hours and during Art After Dark.  This is a complimentary extension of the class tuition for our students to allow you to relax and finalize your works of art.

April 25 - Cold Wax & Oil Paint

May 9 - Acrylic Painting with Pura Vida Sierras Art

Paint a gorgeous scene from the Reno Hot Air Balloon Races in a fun, relaxed environment.

June 20 - Abstract Watercolor Resist Painting with Pura Vida Sierras Art

Release your inner critic and enjoy this technique that creates borders out of oil pastels (or crayons!) and infill with the loose medium of watercolor.  This is a favorite among those who want to capture the best of both worlds:  drawing and watercolor

July 18 - Mosaics with Pura Vida Sierras Art

Create functional mosaic pieces such as coasters, trivets, platters, or opt for a wall hung art piece...the world is your oyster to create a fun work of mosaic art.  This class, as always, is dedicated to Alyce, and many of the supplies are from her extensive collection and passion for the art form.

August 8 -  Neurographic Art with Pam Castner

Unwind and let yourself create organic, flowing neurographic art with Pam Castner.  This art form is unique and perfectly suited to all skill levels.

September 19 - Silk Dyeing & Gifts with Pura Vida Sierras Art

Learn a variety of techniques to create your own beautiful silk scarves, handkerchiefs, dog bandanas, and more in this fun, slightly messy, and friendly class.  Participants will leave with at least one piece of silk art, or, may choose from other fun "bases" such as cotton travel bags, kitchen towels, and more.

October 17 - Inner Spirit Dolls with Pam Castner

Dolls are not just for kids - these are beautiful, quirky, wholly unique creations of the individual making them.  Wall hung, sitting, detailed, modern, vintage...you decide.  These dolls capture the inner spirit and vision of the maker.

November 14 - Alcohol Ink Ornaments & Cards with Pura Vida Sierras Art

Have a blast creating alcohol ink ornaments and other items in this slightly messy, intriguing, and fun class.  Alcohol ink may be dripped, blown, painted, and more...but it has a mind of its own, and that is the best part!  The happy surprises at the end are awesome.
